Engineered Concrete Hollow Blocks

The Engineered Hollow Concrete Interlocking Block (EHCIB) forms the basic unit of an innovative building System.

Advantages of the EHCIB
  1. A High Quality Block:
    • Uniform in structure ensured by quality control processes during manufacture i.e. all blocks are measured for same dimensions (LxWxH – 300x150x200mm).
  2. Load-bearing blocks with compressive strength ≥8N – enable          building up to SIX floors without requiring traditional columns.
    • Mesh formed by the horizontal and vertical steel reinforcements enables buildings to withstand heavy winds and seismic movements – buildings can be earthquake proofed to 9 on the Richter scale.

    • U-shaped blocks act as formwork for beams and lintels.

    • Reinforced concrete in beams and lintels of windows & doors is allowed to gain strength as construction continues since the U-shaped blocks are capable of carrying load.

    • Plaster delamination problems are not seen because:
      • The blocks form a permanent bond with plaster.
      • Water absorption of ≤ 4% submerged in water for 24 hours.

    • Walls do not have to be plastered and stay pleasing to the eye with negligible degradation over time.
    • Uniform in structure ensured by quality control processes during manufacture i.e. all blocks are measured for same dimensions (LxWxH – 300x150x100mm).
  2. Minimal material wastage with remarkably clean sites.
  3. The bricks offer thermal and acoustic/sound insulation for buildings reducing energy requirements and inconveniences.
